Emma is one of our success stories….

‘Believe in yourself and have confidence’

That is what Balance The Board and Plan B Mentoring has given me, within 6 months of joining the programme I was promoted to Managing Director!

My Mentor has been amazing and so supportive and made me realise I am worthy of my place on a board and not to be afraid to engage with board level personnel. I no longer feel like I don’t belong.

Plan B is an amazing programme run by amazing women and inspires me everyday.

Juliette is one of our success stories…

“I truly believe I would not have landed my first HR director role without Plan B. It has helped me to find my mentor who has taught me so much. The most important thing I learned was how to combat my lack of confidence; something that was standing in the way of the next step in my career. She helped me to see that there is a solution for every problem and that problems are just projects in disguise, waiting to be solved. This experience has supported my transition into the professional I am today and it’s the reason I’m so passionate about building mentoring relationships for women in the future.”

One of our Mentors…

Nick Inkster spent his whole career in the hospitality sector before retiring in 2019. His last 26 years were spent with SSP plc, where he ultimately held the position of Divisional CEO, running a "patch" covering around 19 countries, from Norway in the north to Australia in the south. During this time he lived and worked both in New York and Paris, and represented the group on JV boards in Thailand, France and Qatar.

A great supporter of Balance The Board, Nick says "I've always believed that success should be determined by talent, ability and determination, and not by gender. The strength of the mentoring approach is that it helps to the instil the confidence that women need to believe that too".
